FAQs

Product usage and scoring

What is LinkRisk?

LinkRisk is a backlink analysis and profiling tool used to algorithmically assign a risk score to a domain name.

The purpose of this is to allow you to work out how likely the domain name is to see fluctuations in visibility due to search engine algorithm changes and how risky a link from that site may be.

So high is good?

Well high is risky! If you are seeing a high LinkRisk score on your reports then we suggest you may need to dig a little deeper to find out what potentially risky links you have coming into your profile.

It is very unlikely you will find a domain with no risk attached to it – The majority of URL’s have had some SEO activity at some point in their history.

If you are unsure or need help analysing what you are seeing, get in touch and we can help you with our link management services.

How is the score calculated?

The score is calculated with a complex, proprietary algorithm and uses a multitude of industry standard metrics as well as an overlay of some of our secret sauce.

This is the most comprehensive analysis of a sites backlink profile on the market today.

Why should we trust the score?

As a management team, we have over 25 years experience in search marketing and predominantly link building and profile management – combined this with our extensive knowledge of API’s and web development and we like to think we know what we are looking for – learn more about the team here.

Data wise, we have taken into account every industry standard metric you would expect to use – plus a few more…. Ask us to learn more about the scores.

Who Uses LinkRisk?

Link builders, SEO consultants – freelance, agency and client side – digital marketers and more use LinkRisk.

In fact, if you have a website and rely on search engines for traffic, you need to consider your LinkRisk and how your backlink profile may potentially be harming your search engine rankings.

LinkRisk should be used at the start of the pitch process – to see what LinkRisk you will be inheriting should you win the client – through to ongoing monitoring of the link profile’s risk.

LinkRisk is used at every step of an organic search campaign.
