BrightonSEO was our launch event and getting to talk to 2000+ SEO people about how to sort some link problems was great, Dave has captured many of the points really well here.. Keep doodlin’ Dave!

Google Webmaster Tools is a free way of getting backlink data (providing you have access to the domain), we’ve been working hard to integrate a more automated solution for LinkRisk and hope to have that soon. Whilst we work on that, lets show you the easy way of downloading your backlink data from WMT. Load up webmaster tools and login with your Google account (at this people we are assuming you have an account verified and added)   Select your site, for this one we’ve chosen my personal blog TheHodge.co.uk We want to ignore all the options and click Traffic then … Read More

  4. Should you Buy that Domain? LinkRisk is Here to Help!

Last week Matt Cutts posted a video in which he answered the question: Can I buy a domain that used to have spam on it and still rank? The question was posed by Johan Tavard, from Thailand, who said that the site in question had thousands of root domains coming from spam and was on the market for $5,000: to buy or not to buy?! Initially responding to the question as a ‘tricky one’, to sum up Cutts concluded that in theory you can reset the SEO of a domain, but implied that it doesn’t come easily. Firstly, Cutts distinguishes … Read More

One of the best SEO conferences in the UK is undoubtedly BrightonSEO, that’s why LinkRisk were proud to support the conference (and parties) this year. Paul took to the stage to give his presentation on ‘How to find a sh***y link’  and Dom hosted a strange quiz show to close the conference. The biggest thing for us over the past few days has been finally having the opportunity to show the world LinkRisk and launch our Beta List. To which the response this weekend has been astounding, both with signups, comments and some wonderful online coverage. We arrived at the conference with a stand, … Read More

One of most trusted sources of backlink data is MajesticSEO, we’ve been working hard to get direct integration with them (which should be live soon). As much as we love them, downloading your backlink data is a bit of a tricky process so we’ve compiled a little run though to help you download the raw csv of your backlinks. Remember – You can download your link data for free from MajesticSEO by validating your domain.   We start with the homepage, nice and simple just stick the url in the text box that says ‘Site Explorer’ Clicking the orange button … Read More

      |   Leave a Comment

Just before we get ready to head down to BrightonSEO,  we’ve shipped out a nice feature for the beta testers, filtering. So we’ve used this opportunity to create our fist ‘feature post’ where we tell you, well what features we are releasing. When viewing a link profile now, you can filter by LinkRisk score, domain name, status code and anchor text which should help you narrow down those Risky Links. We’ve listened to our initial set of testers and this was the #1 feature they asked for. Over the next few days at BrightonSEO we will be adding the first set … Read More
